Everything Austin Owners Ask Us

What training methods do you use?

Positive, reward-based methods grounded in modern behavior science, integrated with functional movement work through the Venture Functional Movement Method. No fear, no intimidation, no shock. Steven Tallas is Fear Free certified and holds the CBCC-KA behavior consulting credential.

Where does training happen?

Mostly in your home and neighborhood, because that is where your dog's behavior lives. Group clinics and workshops run at partner facilities including Epic Canine and South Austin Dog Center, and guided adventures use Austin's trails and dog-friendly spots.

Which areas do you serve?

Core: South and Central Austin including Sunset Valley, Manchaca, West Lake Hills and Circle C. Designated service days: North Austin, Pflugerville, Hutto. Nearby: Buda, Kyle, Dripping Springs and San Marcos on request.

How much does training cost?

Structured six-session programs: Puppy Journey $980, Little Movers Big Manners $1,020, Movement & Manners obedience $1,120, Obedience + Fitness Hybrid $1,150, Achieving Tranquility behavior program $1,260, Functional Movement fitness $900, Performance fitness $950. Assessments $100 to $250, drop-in clinics $70, fitness memberships $59 to $129 monthly. Every program starts with a free consultation.

How long until we see results?

Most clients notice change within two to three sessions. Full programs run six sessions with weekly check-ins, and behavior cases like separation anxiety are honestly scoped in months. We give you a real timeline at the consultation, not a marketing one.

Do you train aggressive dogs?

Yes, it is a specialty. Aggression cases are led personally by a CBCC-KA certified behavior consultant, the credential the industry recommends for exactly this work, with safety and management built before modification begins.

What is canine fitness and why do you talk about it so much?

Structured strength, balance and mobility work for dogs. It is our founding expertise and the reason our behavior results hold: a regulated body supports a regulated mind. Sport dogs, seniors, anxious dogs and puppies all train it differently, and all benefit.

Do you offer board and train?

No. We train in your home and neighborhood on purpose, because the behavior you want has to work where you live, and results from a kennel program rarely survive the car ride home. If you want fast momentum, our six-session programs with weekly check-ins are the closest thing, and they stick.

What should I have ready for the first session?

Nothing special: your dog, your household as it normally runs, and a list of what you want to change. High-value treats help. We bring the plan, the equipment and the patience.

Are you insured and certified?

Yes. Certifications include CBCC-KA (CCPDT), Dip.CBST (CASI), canine sports conditioning, NC State College of Veterinary Medicine canine fitness, Fear Free, AggressiveDog.com, CATCH mentor trainer status and APDT membership, with pet CPR and first aid current.

My dog failed with another trainer. Why would this work?

Because we change the variable other programs cannot: the body. Dogs who plateau in obedience-only training are usually carrying tension and regulation problems that commands cannot reach. That is precisely the case our method was built for, and our reviews are full of second-chance stories.
